AZ Citizens Clean Election Commission
Talking politics with Gen-Z
The Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission sought to increase civic engagement with the Gen Z demographic. The only catch: no materials could imply a political leaning or a stance on any issue.

With a team of five students, we researched Gen-Z's engagement with politics to reach several strategy-shaping insights: we live in a culture of "cancelling," a world of information overload, and a competition for social media clout. For Gen Z, politics is nothing but dividing. This generation isn't scared to cut ties with peers over political differences.

That's why our campaign sought to simplify voting and block out the noise. Because your vote is yours, not your mom's, Twitter's, or your friend's. With tactics like ballot drop boxes on campus and "quiet space" art installations, CCEC was given a wealth of tactics that promoted educated decisions while taking the stress out of voting.
