About Me

If you told a younger me that I could make a living out of keeping up with culture and closely examining how people consume, I would have laughed. As it turns out, that's what I do!

Telling stories about how people tick is my specialty. With experiences in auto, political, CPG, and healthcare industries, I've had the chance to tell many stories about how consumers make decisions and how they perceive brands. And I still have a lot of stories left to tell.

When I'm not conveying stories of the complexities of consumption, I might be Olympic weightlifting, or cooking the Midwestern comfort food I was raised on although I'm from Arizona.

Whatever I'm up to, I'm always open for conversations about it and the work I've done! You can reach me at kaylie.volpe@gmail.com to chat.

But wait!

"What do you mean by 'Child of the Internet' on the homepage?"

I sit in the awkward in-between of Millennial and Gen Z. You probably know Gen Z as living in the digital age and not knowing what dial up is, or having never paid for cable. Well, I know what dial up is and I did pay for cable for a brief period, but I lean more Gen Z after developing a fascination with the internet at age 10 (or 2006) and not looking back after that.

What I mean is that I'm really, really into internet culture. Like, really.

"Roleplayed in bootleg anime comments sections" really.

"Finsta handle named after my favorite Neopet" really.

"Once made a graphic that went viral on Tumblr" really.

That said, I have a lot of other hobbies like Olympic lifting, graphic design, and watching horror movies. But I also spend a lot of my time scouring the internet to watch culture as it unfolds.
